The ALMSHOUSES

For over 400 years Richmond Charities has had a longstanding history of providing support to the Richmond community through its 145 almshouses which provide secure and comfortable homes for 165 residents over the age of 65.  Almshouses are a recognised residential accommodation, run exclusively to meet the Richmond Charity’s continuing aim to enhance the quality of life for residents, promoting their well-being and fostering a sense of community within the almshouses.

London House Projects are very proud to have recently been able to assist Richmond Charities in the restoration, modernisation and sustainable updates to a number of existing almshouses in the Richmond, Twickenham and Mortlake areas. Recognising the significance of the almshouses, we have worked closely with Richmond Charities to be sure to prioritise the well-being and satisfaction of the almshouse residents.

We are also involved in an exciting project constructing a new build block of 12 almshouses, on behalf of The Richmond Charities, which will further support the increased need for almshouses in the area. All the new almshouses will be level access accommodation and some will be suitable for wheelchair users and those with reduced mobility. These homes will offer modern, comfortable living spaces for the elderly in need.
